Rooted in Austin, TX, Gus Miller & The Buzz Killers forge a dynamic Americana/Bluegrass sound that bridges the golden era of cosmic country (Gram Parsons, Willie Nelson) with the energy of modern Bluegrass (Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain String Band). In 2025, he was named a finalist in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubador competition, placing 4th out of over 300+ artists with his original song “A Dark Place”. Gus hosts a monthly bluegrass showcase - Pickin & Sippin - every last Wednesday of the month at Meanwhile Brewing, showcasing a rotating house band of Austin’s finest bluegrass players. He’s played alongside & opened for artists such as The Wood Brothers, Lukas Nelson, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jason Boland, Bob Livingston, Wood & Wire, Magoo, Mountain Grass Unit, and a long list of Texas-based artists and Grammy-nominated songwriters.
His latest release, "Live from Studios at Fischer", captures his raw sound in a four-track live EP recorded straight to tape, paired with full-session video available on YouTube. Currently, Miller regularly performs with Nashville's Rachel Cole, a longtime collaborator with the late Todd Snider until his untimely passing in November 2025.
